Since becoming CEO in 2018, Heather has led the Sovrin Foundation through the most significant updates in the history of the Sovirn Network leading to greater stability, utility, and use across an array of applications created across multiple industry verticals.
Today, the Sovrin Network is the leader in blockchain-based verifiable identity exchange networks using decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs).
Throughout the Sovrin Foundation technological leaps, Heather has worked to ensure that the process has been open and developed in a way that aligns with the mission of the non profit Sovrin Foundation to provide Identity for All.
The Sovrin Governance Framework, for example, dictates how the Sovrin Network is administered and utilized and through a series of face-to-face meetings and countless hours of volunteer work, underwent a major update in 2018 providing the necessary guidance and direction on behalf of identity holders worldwide ensuring an open and decentralized network.
Self Sovereign Identity
The Sovrin Foundation’s commitment to supporting a self-sovereign identity (SSI) community that is accessible to all. This includes launching the Sovrin Alliance and providing a place for organizations and individuals looking for the basic education, tools and community to begin work in SSI.
Heather’s commitment to the support of the growing SSI movement through the Sovrin Alliance raise nearly $1m in the Q1 of 2019. In March 2019, the Sovrin Foundation received the award for Greatest Social Impact by OWI.
New Era of Data Privacy
The Sovin Network has led the way on the new era of data privacy. This includes expanding the Sovrin Steward community operating validator nodes on the network for greater diversity of types of Stewards and geographic locations ensuring network stability.
This comprehensive Steward expansion program took place within the Sovrin Foundation operating budget. Today there are more than 60 Stewards worldwide, on six continents across a dozen industries.
