Leonardo Shapiro, Head of Growth
Leonardo has led several successful technology and financial services startups and is currently head of growth at Azlo and most recently co-founder of Airbanq. Previously, he was co-founder and chief strategy officer of Tienda Kit, which was one of the first companies in Mexico to provide access to credit card payments to small merchants. After growing the business to processing 6% of total card payments in Mexico, he sold the company to Verifone.
Leonardo is passionate about bringing a culture of entrepreneurship to emerging economies and has been very involved with Endeavor since he was chosen as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in 2005. He mentors many fellow entrepreneurs and has also won awards from Intel and Expansión Magazine for his outstanding entrepreneurship and leadership.
Leonardo is always trying to find how new innovations can bring social well being by giving tools that empower people. He was born and raised in Mexico City and is a new resident of the San Francisco Bay area where he lives with his wife and two children. He enjoys looking for authentic tacos, listening to rock music, skiing and scuba diving with his family. He holds a BS in Computer Science and MS IT Administration from the Monterrey Institute of Technology.
